Living a life of love is quite a challenge. It’s challenging to apply it at home. It’s even more challenging to apply in church. It doesn’t always work out, even though we may try so hard to choose what is the most loving thing to do. Relationships may still end up strained or broken in spite of our best efforts. But why should we still pursue the way of love above all else? Why do still want to apply God’s kind of love in our relationships? Wouldn’t it be better to just leave each alone? Why risk the possibility of pain or hurt? Paul explains why in verses 8 to 13 of 1 Corinthians 13.
